My comic strip is actually based on a true story I read in a Bear Attack book in the 90’s.
The story goes, that a Grizzly bear chased a hunter up a tree. After a while of the bear pacing below, he began tossing things down at the bear. He shot his last bullet, and the bear stayed by the tree. He threw his shoes at the bear an it stayed at the base of the tree, he urinated on the bear an it stayed, so, he pooped on the bear an it stayed. He then found a lighter and paper in his pocket, and in desperation, began throwing burning paper down at the bear. The paper then started the forest on fire at the base of the tree and ... ultimately this is actually about Wildfire Safety.

Inspirational books for this project include the satirical series “Good Reasons to Punch a Dolphin in the Mouth”, where they mock being “manly” in illustrated concepts. I plan to give a similar approach in comedy, but we’d rather punch the poachers than the dolphin. I plan to use more realism in the actual illustrations, to stray from the stick-figure format and make each character stand out with it's own persona.
